Vella Bass nee Rumack, 100; loving wife of the late Milton Bass, beloved mother of Rosanne Bass Keynan and the late Alan Bass; treasured grandmother of Elizabeth Flier; dearest aunt of Robin Rumack and honorary aunt to many. Also a gifted teacher to generations of Niles Township East students. She was a co-founder with her husband of the first synagogue in Skokie and a lover of botanic gardens. Chapel service Friday, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
